While I had gone over topics concerning the human figure and how light interacts with objects in previous art classes, I didn't go into nearly as much depth as I did while attending Ringling my freshman year. By reinventing the way that I not only performed my drawings and other art, but also how I approached them and "saw" my objectives prior to interpret them, my various artistic abilities were vastly improved over a short time span. I felt and continue to feel very lucky for having attended classes where the primary purpose was to instruct students how and why drawings and other artistic pieces were constructed the way they were; instead of simply skimming over history lessons and minor points on drawing basic shapes. Be it through drawings or three dimensional modules and clay constructs, my freshman year was filled with a great diversity of various art projects that challenged everything I thought I knew about art in the best ways possible.
